partir is the French verb for “to leave”. It is an -ir verb with an irregular stem. Its compound tenses, such as the passé composé, take the auxiliary être, and its participe passé is parti.
In the présent: je pars, tu pars, il/elle part, nous partons, vous partez, ils/elles partent.
With être, the participe passé agrees with the subject: add -e for a feminine subject, -s in the plural.
The stem drops its last consonant in the present singular: je pars, but nous partons.
